Adani Group Acquires Air Works MRO

Air Works, a pioneer in aviation MRO services, operates across 35 cities in India, supported by a team of over 1,300 professionals.

The company’s expertise spans comprehensive aviation services such as line maintenance, heavy checks, avionics, aircraft painting, and interior refurbishment.

It also handles base maintenance for narrowbody, turboprop, and rotary aircraft from its facilities in Hosur (NIL), Mumbai (BOM), and Kochi (COk).

The acquisition allows Adani to integrate Air Works’ capabilities into its portfolio, elevating the group’s ability to provide end-to-end aviation solutions.

Notably, Air Works holds regulatory approvals from over 20 international aviation authorities, making it a trusted partner for global and domestic clients.

This move also comes at a time when India’s aviation sector is experiencing transformative growth. With India becoming the third-largest aviation market globally and plans to induct over 1,500 aircraft, the need for robust MRO services is at an all-time high.

According to Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, this acquisition is a cornerstone in creating an integrated aviation services ecosystem.

Adani Group Strategic Expansion

Air Works has established itself as a key player in defense aviation, providing critical MRO support for the Indian Navy’s P-8I aircraft and the Indian Air Force’s 737 VVIP fleet.

The acquisition aligns with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, focusing on building domestic capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign MRO services.

Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, highlighted the strategic value of this acquisition.

It allows the group to deliver full-spectrum MRO services across both commercial and defense sectors. The deal also underscores Adani’s commitment to scaling indigenous defense technologies and infrastructure, ensuring India’s aviation services remain globally competitive.

By integrating Air Works, Adani Defence & Aerospace enhances its role in designing and manufacturing advanced defense systems while building a robust ecosystem for civil and military aviation.

This acquisition is not just a business move but a strategic and significant step in reinforcing India’s position as a global aviation hub.
