Prez Murmu scheduled to visit Odisha from December 3 to 7

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha from December three to seven.

During the five-day tour, the President is scheduled to grace several functions at Puri, Bhubaneswar and Mayurbhanja.

According to official sources, Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar on December three by a special Indian Air Force plane and unveil a statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu at Niladri Vihar in the capital city in the evening.

She will visit the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri on the next day for darshan of the deities and attend the 75th anniversary celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda College.

On December four, the President will witness a demonstration of the naval power organised by the Indian Navy on the Navy Day at the Puri Blue Flag beach.

On December five, the President will attend the convocation of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology in Bhubaneswar and inaugurate the new judicial court complex later in the day.

On December six, she will pay homage to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at A G Chhak in Bhubaneswar on his death anniversary and then proceed to Mayurbhanj and interact with students and teachers at Uparbeda Government Higher Secondary School.

She is scheduled to interact with the villagers at her residence and flag off a vehicle donated by the SLS Trust Board for the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Rairangpur.

Murmu will also visit the local women’s college and perform puja at the Punyeshwar Mahadev Temple in the evening.

On December seven, the President is scheduled to lay the foundation stones for several railway projects before leaving for New Delhi.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has held a high-level meeting with the officials to review the preparations for the smooth visit of the President.
