Kathmandu, Nov 23: Chief of Army Staff of India, General Upendra Dwivedi, who is on an official visit to Nepal, performed worship at Muktinath Temple, a popular pilgrimage site in Mustang, on Saturday.     

On the occasion, the Indian Army Chief visited the temple and offered prayers there, informed Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information.     

Hindus and Buddhists from Nepal and India offer prayers and worships at Muktinath pilgrimage site.     

Thousands of Indian visitors throng Muktinath region every year. Also today, Chief Dwivedi visited the Nepal Army’s Western Division Headquarters in Pokhara.     

The Army General was received by the NA Division Commander, Major General Santosh Ballabh Poudyal.     

He arrived in Nepal on Wednesday at the invitation of the Nepal Army.     

Earlier on Thursday, President Ramchandra Paudel had conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army earlier on General Dwivedi.(RSS)
