Kishtwar, Nov 10 : Days after the killing of two Village defence guards, a gunfight broke out in the woods of Kishtar officials said.
Top official sources informed Kashmir Despatch that after days massive search operation in and around the Kishtwar forests to track down the terrorists hidding, an exchange of fire broke out this morning.
Sources said two to three Jaish terrorist outfit are believed to be trapped in the ongoing anti-militancy operation.
Sources further added that special forces para has also been called.
Pertinently, this is 10th anti-militancy operation in parts of Jammu and Kashmir since past 10 days.
Earleir, in the first 9 days of this November month 8 terrorists were eliminated in multiple operations.
As reported this newspaper 2 local terrorists among the others killed in these operations.
Meanwhile, another operation is underway in Sopore’s upper belt where on late Saturday evening a Pak terrorist was gunned down.
Earlier this week, The top army officer claimed that local support paves the way for significant achievements in the fight against terrorism in Kashmir.
Commander of 7 Sector Deepak Mohan stated that over the past weeks, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have collaborated to track the terrorists. As a result, significant success has been achieved in the elimination of several known terrorists involved in various terror activities.
The top army officer stated that these significant achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Awaam of Kashmir.
He expressed gratitude for the thoughts and efforts of locals who have helped maintain peace in Kashmir. He further added that the security forces will continue to strive for peace in Kashmir for a bright and successful future.
