SET-NU hosts talk on Indian Navy as a career choice

DIMAPUR — School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University (SET-NU), in collaboration with the Indian Navy, organised a talk on ‘Indian Navy as a career choice’ at the conference hall of SET-NU, Kohima campus, on Thursday.

According to an update, the resource person Captain PS Ravi Kumar highlighted that it is very important for a maritime nation like India to have a strong and modern navy.

“As we make more use of the seas, our need for security will also increase. Only a strong and modern Navy can give us the security that we require to make optimum use of our seas,” the naval officer said. 

Kumar said that aspirants can join in the different branches of the Indian Navy including executive, marine engineering, electrical engineering, education and medical.

He also informed that aspirants can join the Indian Navy through Agnipath scheme for seamen and other posts.

While motivating the students to join the Indian Navy, he further said that all branches/specialisations/cadre are also open for women.

The talk, hosted by S Phaoniu, was organised for the final year students of SET.

Meanwhile, the organisers extended gratitude to the resource person, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. G.T. Thong, Dean VK Vidyarthi and all the participants for making this event a success.
