TTD issued a show-cause notice to the company responsible for the refused tankers. The refused tanker material was not used by TTD, yet Chandrababu Naidu claims that adulterated ghee was used. I question how adulterated ghee could have been used in prasad manufacturing if the tankers were sent back?

Every 6 months tenders (for Laddu) are called and the L1 who quotes for lower prices, gets approved by the TTD board. There is no government interference. The TTD board is also very special. Union Ministers and other state CMs also recommend the board members. The tenders of TTD were called as per routine and the suppliers were given as per the tender auction. TTD has a robust mechanism. The tankers that come to Thirumala should have an NABL certificate. The suppliers should get the tankers certified and produce the certificate.

SC calls to intensify efforts against stubble burning, pollution
The Supreme Court has instructed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to take proactive measures to ensure the use of alternative equipment for stubble burning at the grassroots level. While acknowledging that the CAQM has made some progress, the court emphasized the need for greater activity to ensure that its initiatives effectively reduce pollution.

Hathras school boy sacrifice: FIR registered at Sahpau PS in Hathras under section 103(1) of BNS against Dinesh Baghel – the owner of D.L. Public School and 4-5 unidentified people.
The FIR, registered on the basis of the statement of a man, states that Baghel and other accused told him that they strangled his son and killed him on 23rd September. As per the FIR, the child lived in the hostel of the school.

Supreme Court is hearing the curative plea of the Centre and the Airports Authority of India against its SC judgement that allowed GMR Airports to upgrade and operate Nagpur’s Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport.
Order: CJI notes that in his professional judgment, SG says that issues in curative does not fall under the three fold parameters of bias, absence of hearing, any other grounds.
SG has submitted that this court may issue a clarification as per para 51 of the impugned order so that in such matters Union of India and AAI are not necessary parties. He says if above statement of law holds the field then it may impact the representation of parties in future litigation. Thus it is noted that curative plea is not pressed before the court, but observation in para 51 of the judgment that AAI or Union are not necessary parties would not be correct position in law.

Hurricane Helene Live News Update: Helene’s winds batter Florida
Tropical storm force winds began battering Florid as Hurricane Helene prepared to make landfall, with forecasters warning that the enormous storm could create a “nightmare” surge along the coast and churn up damaging winds hundreds of miles inland across much of the southeastern US. The storm’s wrath was starting to be felt Thursday afternoon, with water lapping over a road on the northern tip of Siesta Key near Sarasota and covering some intersections in St. Pete Beach along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Lumber and other debris from a fire in Cedar Key a week ago was crashing ashore in the rising water. And winds of up to 125 mph have already left around 180,000 Florida homes and businesses without power.
Beyond Florida, up to 25 centimetres of rain has fallen in the North Carolina mountains, with up to 36 centimetres more possible before the deluge ends, setting the stage for flooding that forecasters warned could be worse than anything seen in the past century.
With forecasters also warning of tornadoes and mudslides, the governors of Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia have all declared emergencies, as did President Joe Biden for several of the states. He is sending the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to Florida on Friday to view the damage.

Tamil Nadu CM Stalin in Delhi, may meet Modi on Friday
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today with the demand for early release of funds for several projects such as the Chennai Metro and universal education initiatives. Stalin arrived in the national capital on Thursday evening and received a warm welcome from DMK leaders, including members of parliament T R Baalu, Tiruchi Siva, Dayanidhi Maran, K Kanimozhi, and T Sumathy among others.
Stalin is expected to submit a memorandum to the prime minister over the alleged delay in the allocation of central funds to the state.
The funding for the Chennai Metro Phase-II and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is likely to figure during the meeting between Stalin and Modi.
The Tamil Nadu government has opposed linking the PM-SHRI schools scheme to the release of SSA funds.
PM-SHRI is a scheme conceived by the Union Government to develop model schools that offer leadership to other schools in the neighbourhood.
Stalin is also expected to meet leaders of the Congress and other INDIA bloc constituents during his stay in the national capital.

A powerful hurricane was barreling towards Florida on Thursday, with officials warning of “unsurvivable” conditions and a potentially catastrophic storm surge high enough to swamp a two-story house.
Tens of thousands of people were without power and roads were already flooded ahead of what is expected to be one of the largest Gulf of Mexico storms in decades.
Fast-moving Helene strengthened to an “extremely dangerous” Category 4 hurricane Thursday evening, ahead of landfall expected around 11pm (0300 GMT), the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
It was packing winds of 130 miles (215 kilometers) per hour as it churned over the Gulf’s warm waters towards the Big Bend area south of Florida’s capital city Tallahassee.
