Amid strong growth in 2023-24, GSL sees revenue surge in coming years
Panaji: Registering strong growth in 2023-24, Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has surpassed Rs 2,000 crore gross revenue for the first time, a milestone driven by a robust order book and the concurrent construction of ships.
Chairman and managing director Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay said that the shipyard’s turnover was supplemented by delivering a damage control simulator to the Indian Navy at Port Blair, and 12 specialised boats to the Army.
Upadhyay made the disclosures at the annual general meeting (AGM) where the audited financial statements for FY 2023-24 were approved.
“The shipyard has achieved the highest-ever revenue from operations of Rs 1,753 crore, representing an astounding growth of 102%. Profit after tax stood at Rs 271 crore compared to Rs 155 crore last year,” said Upadhyay.
As of Mar 31, GSL had orders for 22 warships and commercial vessels worth Rs 18,562 crore. “Our robust order book and the concurrent execution of multiple projects will ensure a significant surge in revenue in the coming years,” said Upadhyay.
At the AGM, total dividend was fixed at Rs 7 per share.
