Imphal, Sept 12: In a coordinated effort, the Indian Army, Manipur Police, CRPF, and BSF have recovered substantial amounts of arms and ammunitions in a 48-hour operation against warring groups in Manipur.
On September 11, based on specific intelligence, a joint team from the Army, Manipur Police, and CRPF conducted a raid in the Maulsang area of Churachandpur District. During this operation, they recovered one 7.62mm AK Series Assault Rifle with a magazine, three medium-sized improvised mortars (locally known as Pompi), and various other war-like stores.

The following day, on September 12, another operation was carried out in the densely forested area southwest of Shejang in Kangpokpi District. This operation, conducted in collaboration with the BSF, led to the recovery of one modified M-16 rifle, one 7.5-foot country-made rocket, one large country-made mortar, and additional ammunition and war-like stores.
The recovered items have been handed over to the police for further investigation and disposal.
The operation marks a significant step in neutralizing the threat posed by these inimical groups, reaffirming the commitment of Security Forces towards peace in the region, the Indian Army said in a press statement.
