Indian Navy is all set to get its second nuclear submarine INS Arighat, which is going to join the Navy fleet today, on August 29. This submarine will provide security in the Indian Ocean region and will be equipped with deadly missiles like K-4. This missile has the capability to strike up to a distance of three thousand kilometers.
Arighat will also be equipped with K-15 missiles like Arihant. This comes at a time when India needs more nuclear submarines to deal with the growing dominance of China in the Indian Ocean.
India’s first nuclear submarine was INS Arihant, which was commissioned into the Indian Navy fleet in 2014. INS Arighat is more updated and dangerous than INS Arihant. The Indian Navy is preparing two more nuclear submarines, which will be ready by 2035-36.
