The search for a missing Cessna-152 trainer aircraft, which disappeared after taking off from Jamshedpur on August 20, is ongoing in Jharkhand’s Chandil dam area. The aircraft remains untraceable despite extensive efforts, as search operations enter their fourth day.

The bodies of the trainee pilot, Shubhrodeep Dutta, and the pilot-in-command, Captain Jeet Satru Anand, were recovered from the dam on Thursday. According to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Subhra Rani, the missing aircraft has yet to be found. An Indian Navy team, which started searching on Thursday, has not yet succeeded in locating the plane.

Initially, local authorities and the forest department conducted the search, followed by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) from August 21. At the request of district authorities, the Navy dispatched a team from Visakhapatnam to assist in the search under the water of the Chandil dam’s reservoir. The team has marked a specific area but has not made any progress so far.

Alchemist Aviation Pvt Ltd, the aircraft’s owner, stated that the plane had 80 liters of fuel and a planned flight duration of one hour. It lost contact with the Jamshedpur Air Traffic Control Tower around 11:10 am on Tuesday, shortly after takeoff.

The aircraft’s disappearance and the recovery of the bodies have prompted a thorough investigation. Authorities continue to search for the missing aircraft, hoping to uncover more information about the incident.
