New Delhi: BEML Limited has entered into a strategic alliance with the Directorate of Marine Engineering, Indian Navy to boost India’s defense capabilities and advance the initiative of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ajit Kumar Srivastav, Director of Defense at BEML, and Rear Admiral K Srinivas at the Naval Headquarters, Delhi.
Under the agreement, BEML will provide support to the Indian Navy for the production of Indigenous design, development, manufacture, and testing of critical marine equipment and systems. The company will utilize its expertise in heavy engineering capabilities to ensure that future naval projects possess advanced, domestically-produced technologies. BEML will generate design and manufacturing blueprints, lead the manufacturing projects, conduct testing and trials of developed systems, and oversee the installation of different equipment on the naval vessels.
BEML Limited is a Schedule ‘A’ Company under the Ministry of Defense, Government of India established in 1964. It manufactures heavy equipment used in various sectors such as Defense, Rail, Power, Mining, Infrastructure, etc. The company has manufacturing plants located in Bangalore, Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Mysore, and Palakkad.
