Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, announced today that the Ministry of Defence will organise a three-day exhibition in Goa under the theme “Know Your Army,” aimed at inspiring Goan youth to join the Indian Army. Speaking at the “Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi” program organised by Chaitanya Pratishthan at Kala Academy, Panaji, Seth noted that Goan youth show limited interest in joining the Defence Forces. To address this, the Ministry will hold special exhibitions in December or January to spark interest among youngsters.

The “Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi” initiative, where students and citizens make rakhis for soldiers stationed at the borders, was praised by Seth as an effort to foster patriotism and unity. The program has been instrumental in promoting nationalistic sentiments among the public.

Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar, who is also the president of Chaitanya Pratishthan, emphasised the need to instill nationalism in the youth. He suggested introducing two years of military training for those interested in government services to develop self-discipline and respect for the nation.

Sharad Gangal, Chairman of TJSB Sahakari Bank Limited, also commended the initiative, stating that such programs foster respect for the Defence Forces among students. It was reported that 54,372 rakhis were prepared by 185 schools and various institutions in Goa, which will be sent to the Indian Army.
