Indian Army celebrated Raksha Bandhan at the Leimakhong military base as well as in Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Bishnupur districts.
In a press statement, PRO Defence informed that at Hope International School, Leimakhong, young girls tied Rakhis to the soldiers, while in Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, and Imphal East districts, women and girls from the local villages showcased their affection and respect to soldiers of the Indian Army by tying traditional Rakhis.
In Bishnupur, ceremonies were held at various locations, including Tronglaobi, Haotak, and Sunushiphai relief camps.
Local women tied Rakhis to soldiers, who reciprocated with sweets as a token of gratitude.
Soldiers also went door-to-door in Phougakchao area, distributing sweets and receiving Rakhis.
The event followed by a traditional feast underscored deep-rooted cultural ties nurturing relationships within the community, embodying the enduring bond between the protectors of the nation and the future generation.
The event was filled with smiles and warmth, fostering a sense of patriotism and unity among the young minds.
The Raksha Bandhan celebrations across the state showcased the cultural heritage and reinforced the commitment of Indian Army to safeguard and unite the communities they serve, the statement added.
