In a landmark achievement, the Indian Air Force and Indian Army have successfully paradropped a portable hospital from an altitude of 15,000 feet. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced this milestone on their social media platform, X.

The Aarogya Maitri Health Cube is part of BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita & Maitri) which is designed to provide trauma care in remote and challenging environments. It is aimed at enhancing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) capabilities.

The MoD highlighted the operation’s alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of delivering essential supplies to crisis areas.

The X handle statement noted, “Showcasing jointness, #IndianAirForce & #IndianArmy conducted first-of-its-kind paradrop of indigenously-made world’s 1st portable hospital at 15,000ft elevation. Aarogya Maitri Health Cube is part of BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita & Maitri) to enhance HADR capabilities.”
