The Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Army have successfully conducted the first precise para-drop operation of the Aarogya Maitri Health Cube at a high altitude near 15,000 feet. These trauma care cubes were developed indigenously under Project BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri). According to the official statement issued by the Defence Ministry, the operation aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of delivering critical supplies to areas affected by humanitarian aid and disaster relief (HADR).

The IAF employed its C-130J Super Hercules tactical transport aircraft to airlift and rapidly para-drop the cube. The Indian Army’s Para Brigade, renowned for its operational expertise, played a pivotal role in the deployment, utilising advanced precision drop equipment. This operation highlighted the capability of military assets to support HADR efforts in remote and mountainous regions.
“The successful para-drop and deployment of the BHISHM trauma care cube exemplified the synergy and jointness of the Armed Forces and underscored the commitment to providing timely and effective assistance as first responders,” the statement stated.
